That’s what I was writing about two weeks ago. On that day, the “Indian summer” finally decided to show up full force, which made me extremely happy after coming home from vacation. I ventured down to the other office that day, and at one point went for a brief walk outside; it was glorious. It’s only right that it should become that nice, considering how cold it is here during the actual summertime. Bay Area residents deserve days like that Wednesday.
Upon returning upstairs from my walk, I turned on a playlist that contained some classics:
Anthem [Nic Chagall Remix Final Edit] /// Filo & Peri
My associations with ‘Anthem’= first getting into electronic music. I found it on an iTunes browsing/shopping spree. Nic Chagall as a solo producer tends to put out great prog and trance tracks. It’s a shame that I still haven’t seen Cosmic Gate (the duo that Nic is half of) live, especially considering the number of times they’ve been to the city. Speak of the devil though – it seems they will be back yet again this October!
Infinity [Klaas Vocal Mix] /// Guru Josh Project
My associations with ‘Infinity’ = frolicking around the beach town of San Sebastian, Spain, visiting a friend on my first real vacation as an adult. This was definitely a summer hit at the time in the clubs of San Sebastian and Pamplona, and I was happy to find it once back in the States. This remix is steeped in Klaas’ signature sounds, the heavy electro bass beat and the distinctive synth melodies in particular. Doesn’t get old!
Good music for a good week – perfect weather arrived, my team ended the quarter hitting all targets at work, I personally resolved a bunch of open tasks, and I successfully prepared for and took one of many dreaded standardized tests. The week following that Wednesday was fine in terms of work, but was a disaster in terms of weather – torrential downpours and windiness abound. Not to mention it got cold again.
Summer please come back, we’re not done with you yet!
